GENERALITY

Elevil 45 is a high quality water dispersion adhesive, characterized by a good fast setting, a medium-high viscosity and a flexible and cohesive adhesive film.

Elevil 45 is particularly suitable for bonding laminates at room temperature and hot. Meets the requirements of the EN 204 group D2 standard

USEFUL ADVICE FOR USE

· Elevil 45 must be spread evenly on the surfaces to be bonded using a spatula, roller coater or other appropriate tool.

· The preparation of the wood and its gluing must be carried out, as far as possible, on the same day to avoid a variation of the tolerances in the dimensions of the parts, with consequent lengthening of the pressing time and weakening of the adhesive joint.

· Elevil 45 does not cause stains and other fading phenomena in wood. Iron impurities coming from the tools, can however generate, by reaction with the tannin present in the wood and in particular with the oak, black spots. For the same reason it is also not advisable to contact or pour into iron containers.

· The parts to be glued must be assembled before the expiration of the open time and pressed until sufficient initial bonding power is obtained.

· When gluing the laminate it is necessary to first ascertain the nature of the back, which can sometimes show traces of release agent, which can affect the wetting capacity of the adhesive and consequently the open time. In the most critical cases, there may be visible gluing defects, a scuffing of the back and subsequent removal of the remaining dust can improve adhesion.

· Avoid adding flours and various excipients that modify the adhesive performance of the adhesive.

· The adhesive easily withstands a maximum addition of water of 1 - 3% to possibly adjust the viscosity if it should be too high, beyond this value the open time can vary significantly.

· The application of Elevil 45 must take place at temperatures not lower than + 15 ° C, below this temperature the bonding power can progressively decrease until the parts are completely detached once the minimum film-forming temperature is reached. The structural characteristics of the bonding deviate from the optimal values with decreasing temperature and at very low values the filmation of the adhesive itself may not occur.

STORAGE

The product fears freezing and must therefore be stored at a temperature not lower than + 5 ° C, away from flames or other sources of excessive heat.

Store in a cool and well-ventilated place, in perfectly closed original packaging. After a long period of storage, it is recommended to stir the adhesive vigorously before use. In the above conditions, the product is stable for at least 12 months (20 ° C) from the production date.
